Laughing Ducks & Barking Dogs Farm is a family owned farm located on beautiful Whidbey Island. We take pride in raising Berkshire hogs, Heritage turkeys, laying chickens and a few broiler chickens. Our family enjoys eating quality meats and we are convinced that comes from happy, content and well-fed animals. Laughing Ducks & Barking Dogs Farm was founded in 2005 with 6 laying hens for ourselves. Over the last four years we have grown to over 30 laying hens, a breeding Berkshire sow, and Slate Blue turkeys. We also raise quality meat chickens for ourselves and private pre-orders. We are happy(delighted) to provide you with the freshest, high quality, and great tasting local meats.

We chose these breeds of livestock because of their meat qualities and their ease of raising. We began this adventure into farming with the intent to provide quality meats for our family, but have found enjoyment in providing these healthy foods to our local community. When you purchase from a small farm you are not only getting the freshest, highest quality products, but supporting your local community, retaining local food sheds and sustaining the environment, helping to keep a fresher, better tasting and healthier fare for everyone.

Livestock availability and ordering process:

• Berkshire hogs are available for purchase throughout the year, depending on breeding.
  A 50% deposit is required for each hog ordered
• Slate Blue Turkeys are avail for pick up the Monday before Thanksgiving. Please have your order in no later than October.
  A 20% deposit is required for each turkey ordered
• Broiler chickens are available by pre-order only, orders must be in by March to ensure order, and are available in late summer or early autumn.
  A 20% deposit is required for each chicken ordered
